Cohort programs

Individual learning can only take you so far in your anti-racist journey

Cohort learning takes the abstract to application and helps participants grow personally and professionally together. We offer two cohort learning programs:

  • The Learning Circle, community of practice

  • Radical Leaders, leadership training program

The Learning Circle, community of practice

What is a Community of Practice?

The Learning Circle is a community of practice (CoP). A CoP is a group of people who share a common concern, a set of problems, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfill both individual and group goals.

CoPs often focus on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Interaction on an ongoing basis is an important part of this. Many CoPs rely on face-to-face meetings and web-based collaborative environments to communicate, connect, and conduct community activities.

Who is this Community of Practice for?

This experience is for any group of people trying to build their muscles around thinking, talking, and actively integrating principles of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility into their day-to-day lives and work.

We recommend groups of 10-30 individuals, all of whom are working closely together within an organization, specific sector, or within an established network.

It is hard to articulate the benefits I’ve received in deeply participating in the community of practice developed and led by Erin and Emerald. Their commitment to advancing these values and their encouraging nature pushes us to consider the ramifications of our decisions and to lean into our privilege to pursue a better world for all. I am eager and feel empowered to continue my practice personally and to implement changes I can for a better and more inclusive world.

Cohort Program FAQs

What are the anticipated outcomes of completing this program?

Participants from our first cohort shared a number of results from completing our program including increased understanding of and ability to speak about JEDIA principles and a stronger desire to take action at work and in their community.

How much does the program cost?

We custom tailor this experience for each organization or network and have a pricing structure that varies depending on

a) the number of participants,

b) whether the organization(s) are nonprofits or for-profits, and

c) the option to add complementary services or additional modules.

How is the program structured?

There are 6, 2-hour sessions in this community of practice and we recommend a cadence of 2 sessions per month.

We will be hosting this program on Circle. This platform allows participants to access materials and communicate asynchronously. Participants will also have access to our larger Circle community after completing the program (stay tuned for more info about the community we are building!).

When will the program be offered next?

That is up to you! We currently have space for the January-March 2025 time-frame and can discuss options for starting later in 2025 also.

Are there other learning opportunities that you offer?

Yes, we will be rolling out a few more learning opportunities for 2025 including a book club, workshop series, and a deeper dive into JEDIA principles for organizations. If you’d like to get alerts on when we launch those opportunities, please sign up for our newsletter .
