Books
Black Power by Charles V, Hamilton & Stokely Carmichael: I use this tool in almost everything I do. The frameworks of community that are found in the Black Power movement give structure to ways in which we want to move through the world and create authentic community structure today.
All the Women are White, All the Blacks are Men, but Some of Us are Brave, an anthology: One of the best bodies of work to understand the intersectionality of Black womanism
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho: opened my mind to all the ways that we can create our future as humans. It really helped me see the power within myself, and the importance of working towards your goals- that's manifestation.
Podcast
The Read: a take on pop and Black culture, politics from the lens of queerness and Blackness, with lots of humor and humanity infused. The older episodes are really special.
Film
What the BLEEP Do We Know (2004): the film is pseudoscience/pseudophilosophy, but allows the viewer to think critically about the impacts of the world on us at the cellular, molecular, and quantum levels of reality. It allowed me to think critically and outside of the norms of expectation.
