Issue 2: Hello from South Korea

New from Emerald

Hi Everyone, it's Emerald from the Liberation Nexus Lab. Myself, Erin, and team are working hard to make sure that we can continue to provide great content and opportunities for all of us to continue building authentic community.

I want to share some personal news for me and my family. In late August we decided to donate and sell the majority of our possessions and move into a life as global nomads. We've started our journey in Seoul, South Korea and will continue our journey through Vietnam and Thailand, before deciding where to head next.

This move has been a big decision for our family, but it is in alignment with our personal values of being global citizens and building community across all lines of difference. Like us at the Lab, we know that all of our humanity is tied to one another. This move is also a way for us, as a Black American family, to find liberation and freedom from the racist violence that we experience in our home country.

Erin and I are excited about the opportunity to learn from the Global majority and continue to practice what it means to be centered in our collective humanity. We look forward to continuing working with and engaging with all of you!

New from Erin

It's been a lovely transition from the hot days of summer into the crispness of the fall. It's also been quite an adjustment on the work-front as I've been getting used to Emerald being on a different continent.

We both took a necessary pause to settle into these new ways of working and being in community together - which in turn is allowing us to put in motion so many exciting things for the future. Stay tuned for more information!
