30 Day Liberation Challenge

30 Day Liberation Challenge

Starting January 6, 2025, join us for 30 days of reflection, resources, and inspiration in understanding your liberation journey.

We know that finding and using our voices in community building and anti-racist work can often feel like a big undertaking.

Let us help you, over 30 days, build your muscle in liberation and abolition work, while finding community and care with others seeking to radically re-imagine the world for us all.

Join us on our Circle community, where the challenge will be hosted.

Sign up here to express your interest and get notified of upcoming challenge information. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions.

FAQs

  • Are there set meeting times? Nope! The Challenge is self-directed. You will receive a daily email with a prompt. We recommend that you log in each day to access the materials and process and reflect with other participants.

  • How much does it cost? The Challenge costs $30 to participate. We are trying to keep the price low enough for folks of any budget to participate, but please reach out if the price is an issue.

  • It says that it’s 5 weeks, but only 30 days long - how does that work? The Challenge will run from Monday-Saturday each week with a day for rest or catching up on Sunday. Emerald gives a video preview on Sundays of what to expect in the week to come.

  • How long will I have access to the Challenge materials? You will have access for 30 days after the Challenge ends to all of the course materials! After that the Challenge will close, but you will still have access to our Lab community on Circle.

  • Is this a course? Or a class? We think of the Challenge as a way to strengthen your anti-racist / liberatory muscles. The prompts and resources shared are intended to help you grow in your understanding, but the journey is personal. We intend for you to do a little bit of learning, journaling, and conversing each day so that you arrive at a different place than where you started at the beginning of the Challenge.

  • How much of a commitment is the Challenge? That’s up to you! The more effort you put in, the more you’ll get out of this experience. You can decide to dive in as deep as you’d like, but we suggest about 15 minutes of journaling each day.

  • What can I expect for the prompts and resources? Each prompt challenges you to think about a different angle of liberation and your role in it. Sometimes the resources are videos or links to a reading to help further your understanding. Sometimes there is a quote from someone we admire that helps drive the point of the prompt home.

  • What is Circle? We are launching our online community with this Challenge and Circle.so is where we host our community. Circle is a space where you can interact with other community members, access resources, and learn more about what we offer through the Liberation Nexus Lab. You will need to create a Circle account to access the Challenge as well as access the general community.

  • What about privacy? The Challenge is hosted in a private space within our Circle community and is only accessible by the admins and other participants. There are spaces that are accessible to the general community as well as other private spaces for our other offerings.

  • Does it cost anything to join the online community? Nope! We have decided to keep access to the online community free forever. We do charge for special events like the Challenge, our Anti-Racist Book Club, and other offerings so that we can subsidize the cost of running this community.

  • Now isn’t the right time for me - will this be offered again? We plan to offer different Challenges a few times throughout the year. This first one is focused on building muscles around thinking critically about liberation and our role in it. Other Challenges will have a different focus.

  • This isn’t the right experience for me - what else do you have? We will be announcing upcoming events and book clubs in early 2025. Sign up for our newsletter for these announcements!
